Most people who know me know that www.liveside.net have always been a great supporter for the things I've done and made on the net, like my emoticon plugin and my WLM FAQ site, admittedly, being friends with Chris, Harrison and Kip sometimes helps . Recently they announced that they were going to be starting a Developer's Blog on the site, and Chris approached me and asked if I would like to contribute to the blog what with my recent spate of plugins! So I agreed, even though I've never considered myself a developer (I'm more someone who dabbles ).

This afternoon I put up my first entry, so head on over and read how you can make your own simple plugin for Windows Live Writer.

Having had a play around with the new Live Spaces since it went live last night, I have to say, for the most part (90% of me) I'm really disappointed with it. All they have done is revamp the interface, there doesn't appear to be anything that is really new.

Ok, they have made better use of the webpage, in a 1280x1024 resolution it's not all squashed to the right hand side anymore, and they have given it a more "Live" feeling to it, but there is nothing really to separate it from MSN Spaces. It would have been like releasing WLM and it all it was was a new GUI to replace the 7.x GUI with no new features.

There is a little bit of a speed issue, but I'm guessing that will improve as everyone is probably hammering the servers.

Overall, I'm very disappointed. I hope they bring some new features that are of worth online soon. Even if all they do is allow you to have your own custom background! Something needs to be added to make this update worthwhile, otherwise it's just a boring facelift.

Well, not literally can't see. My moitor died last night, completely. Checked the fuse, changed the power cable, nothing. Brought it into work with me today, tried it here, still nothing. I only bought it in June as well!! Hopefully it is still under warranty, otherwise I will not be a happy chappy!!

EDIT

My monitor is still under warranty, Iiyama are going to swap the monitor (next week hopefully).

MSN Spaces Editor

Ok, normally I don't post things on here that are IT and technology related, I prefer to keep that side of me off this blog, it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the content. I know, there are the odd occasions where I have, but still, I prefer to keep this blog away from real techno-babble. Any way, I'm making an exception to the rule this time as I want to get some real awareness to a project that Alex and I have started that actually concerns MSN Spaces and the way in which we hope people will interact with Spaces.

"What's the project we're doing??!?!" I hear you all asking, well, the title of this entry says it all, we are developing a program called MSN Spaces Editor that will interact with your Space and allow you to post blogs and do a whole host of other things without ever opening an internet browser.

Many of you reading this will have come from the MessengerSays blog and should be pretty familiar with the whole MSN Spaces thing, and it's you people that we are targeting with this program, and it's these people that can also help influence the development of it.

"Where can I find out more then?!" Easy, we have set up a new MSN Space specifically for this project, and on it both Alex and I will be adding entries to it, keeping people informed of the progress we are making (which is already pretty good and very underway ). My Precious Uptime

I'm still trying to beat my brother's uptime. For those who don't know, uptime is the time the computer has been switched on since it was last rebooted or turned off. My brother's uptime is currently 19 and a half days. So far, all I can manage is just over 18 and a half days. The last two times I have got there, my damn computer just reset itself for no reason. I think something is awry here......
