See You At The School Reunion? Not Bloody Likely!

I was torn as to whether to go the second school reunion that had been organised, and I decided the week of the event that, after looking at who was going, it just wasn't going to be an interesting enough evening to warrant going up. I know the results of my poll were in favour of me going up for it, but to be honest, having seen the pictures from the evening, there was hardly anyone there that I even knew, let alone went to school with.

I've had a couple more people from school add me recently, none of whom have actually contacted me, and the one that I added hasn't replied. Shocker. I think I'm gonna give it a week then maybe just go through and remove nearly all the people in my friends list that I went to school with, cos quite honestly, they're a waste of f*cking time. At least 99% of them either added me and never bothered contacting me, or accepted my friend request but then never replied to me. Seriously, what's the f*cking point of accepting a friend request if you have no intention of actually speaking to that person. I kinda mentioned this when I blogged about it before, when I said about all the siblings that were being added, and now with people accepting requests and not replying, it just looks like a lot of them are just friend whores: "How many friends can I get on this?"

Once again, I know this blog entry will get ported across to facebook, and will be interesting to see the comments (if any) that get made about this. Come on people from Blue Coat, someone must surely be able to explain this...

Ok, so I'm torn. I'm torn between remaining stubborn (such is my character...), and my intense curiosity (another strong characteristic). Do I carry on saying no to myself or do I give in and let the curiosity get the better of me?

I am of course referring to "Blue Coat Reunion - Part Deux". Now you may remember my comments and thoughts on this from the last one that was organised, so you may permit yourself to ask "what's changed?" Well, nothing really. The people mentioned in my last post on the matter have done nothing else, no new people from school have added me on Facebook, everything is as it was before. But I've been following the event now since it was created (and I was subsequently invited to), seeing who's been invited, who's going, who's not, and I'll admit, curiosity has started settling in.

Then someone added some pictures to the event, pictures of some of the people from school, from that time, and it made me look back to my time at Blue Coat, and I asked myself, "was it really that bad?" Well, yes, it was, but part of me is still interested in going, purely to see what's become of those people, the people who, quite frankly, were tw*ts at school; would be interesting to see if they grew up...

The thing I have to think about is whether or not I really want to drive up for it. It's on a Friday, and is set to start at 6pm, which would mean taking half a day off from work as well to go up for it. Now admittedly, I have the time to spare from work (and it probably wouldn't be a bad thing for me to take some of it), but it's still a question of whether it's worth it. It still comes down to the fact that even though some have added me on facebook, very few have actually tried chatting to me after they added me. I guess if that changed, maybe I could be persuaded to head up.

And if it all gets shit...? Well, Coventry are at home to Sheffield United the following day, I'll just go and watch the football
