On Monday night I went and saw Billy Connolly at the BIC, which is my second time of seeing him live, having seen him in Glasgow a couple of years back. But Monday night's gig made the Glasgow one crap in comparison. By the end of the show, I was crying! My jaw hurt! It was great

As with most comedy gigs, you very quickly forget a lot of what was said (it's a sign of a quality evening!!), but he was excellent. I have taken a few pictures as I wasn't that far away from the stage.

Honestly, if you ever get chance to go and watch him, do!

Almost forgot I hadn't blogged about this. We went out for John's birthday last Friday night in Bournemouth. Was an amusing evening. I always thought it would be as I knew Mike was going to be there, and long time readers will know that Mike doesn't like me, and then during the evening Matt and Kelly arrived, so even more amusement for me. I got the customary evil look from Kelly who then didn't come anywhere near me for the rest of the evening. Mike was being very friendly towards me, which was almost unsettling, until I took a picture of him and his missus, then it was business as usual (I found out after that Mike doesn't like me taking pictures. Boohoo).

John had a good night and even got a birthday kiss... Anyway, pictures are up in the usual place. I can't be bothered to put any amusing comments on them, but assume that any picture with Mike in it has an offensive comment (mainly cos I'm sure that's what he thinks all my comments are: offensive).

Tiger Christmas Party 2006 [Updated]

Pictures are up.

Last night was the Tiger Communications Christmas Party. You might remember last year's party, where I went with Sarah, well this year I went with Kirsty, and she looked great . Me on the other hand, I wanted to do something a little different, so I thought, since it's a black tie event, I would try and find a red suit to wear. Unfortunately I couldn't find one, but I did find a really bad Hawaiian shirt of my brothers! I was sold . So I turned up to the party with this shirt, a pair khaki trousers and sandles. Yes, I got some stick, and plenty of comments, but I know none of them were malicious.

I also decided I would have a few drinks last night, and proceeded to get quite (read: very) drunk. However, I annoyed everyone in the morning by waking up, as normal when I've been drinking (drunk), with no hangover, and felt fine .

I am trying to put the pictures up, but just having one or two issues. They will be up soon though.

As I mentioned before, my brother Craig is moving to Bath for his new job as a software developer; well this weekend is his last weekend down in Bournemouth, so last night, him, his mates and myself all went out into Bournemouth. And bloody hell it was a laugh! I haven't had a really enjoyable night out in a long time and last night was truly awesome! We started off in Brasshouse where we met up with everyone, Craig's friends from school and the people he worked with during his time as a Yellow Buses driver.

About 11ish, we headed on to Walkabouts (been a while since I've been there!), I managed to get free entry due to one of Craig's mates knowing one of the doormen . Once in there we were all dancing like lunatics, until some drunk bloke kept coming up to three of the lasses we were with. They kept pushing him away, but he kept coming back. In the end I pushed him away, but the dumb buggger came back again! So I turned him round, put my arm around him and proceeded to walk him to the exit (or a doorman, whichever came first), but he stumbled over about 15yards from the door, but it was enough to get the attention of one of the security guys. I then asked if they would kindly remove him. They did .

So we all carried on dancing like lunatics again, and there was some dirty dancing (if you can believe that) from me and a couple of Polish lasses that were with us!!

All in all, it was an excellent night . Craig, you're gonna have to leave more often . Pictures are up in the normal place, but unlike most other picture sets, I haven't put comments on these ones (well, maybe one), mainly because there were too many to comment each individually.

Bournemouth - 11/08/06

Not really a proper night out, but worth a mention anyway. Was out in Bournemouth for Daniel's birthday at the Brasshouse. I had been told by John that I was to be on my best behaviour and not to start any trouble (like I would do that....). The reason for this request, Kelly and Matt were going to be there, and apparently they were none to pleased with what I wrote on my blog about them (link), I can't think why, I never mentioned them by name like I just did Anyway, John told me they wouldn't mention my blog and I said that was fine. So I behaved Although I was getting dirty looks off Kelly's mates, which pleased me no end Anyway, John, Ginger Claire and I left about 11ish, John left cos Ginger Claire wanted to leave (she'd probably had enough of being in the presence of one of his exs), and I left cos I didn't really care for being left with the others, besides, I'd have probably started something if I'd stayed.

Def Leppard

Watched Def Leppard last night with Alex in London at the Apollo Hammersmith, and I have to say, it's probably the best I've seen them. Their support was rubbish, well, Cheap Trick wasn't too bad, but they had another band supporting them called The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, and my God they were awful, almost to the point it was funny. But Def Leppard themselves were fantastic. Bloody hot though, felt like I'd run a marathon! Pictures are up, but they look a little better on my phone than they do on the computer, but hey ho. Well, seeing Bon Jovi last night was the third time I have seen them, and this one felt a little weird. Why? Because they were playing at the Ricoh Arena, home of the Sky Blues, so just looked weird seeing Bon Jovi, such a big rock band, with the Sky Blues of the seats behind them! Still, didn't stop the concert being fantastic. Alex, Lisa and I all enjoyed it and enjoyed the day out. The real killer was coming home. Alex missed his coach to Heathrow because we were a little later getting out the carpark than we would have hoped so we ended up driving him to Heathrow before going back down to Bournemouth, great So I found myself pulling up to my house at 4.10 in the morning. Needless to say, I emailed my boss and asked for the morning off and slept in

I went and watched Texas on Tuesday night at the Appollo Hammersmith in London. And they were fantastic. Sharleen Spiteri has an amazing voice (and sounds soooo hot when she's talking normally, I love the Scottish accent ). Alex and I both enjoyed the gig, and I certainly wouldn't say no to seeing them again sometime. I did take some pictures, but they didn't come out too well unfortunately stupid camera. Oh well, was a good night out .

John was out in Bournemouth last night with his mate Alan, he said I should join them, so I thought, why not. When I got there, John was in Casa, so met up with him and sat at his table with Alan were these four lasses, no idea who they were; apparently John and Alan had been sat at a table and they just came and sat down with them. They were Katie, Nicola, Becky and Jenny. Katie was very, er, loud, Jenny was very drunk, Becky was losing a battle to keep her boobs from showing (and at one point when moving along a chair, completely lost ), and not a lot can be said about Nicola really. Then one of their mates came, this was Claire, who felt overdressed.... We all had a laugh until they decided to go to Bliss.

"Who's up for going to Bliss tonight?" I pipe up with... So that's where we then found ourselves. I don't normally like Bliss, too many pretentious people in there. Last night was no different. But it was funny watching these people try and be all up themselves, but still being completely plastered, so there was some amusement there for me! All in all, it was a good night out, met some different people and it felt like a good night out, which makes a change for me .

Nottingham - 10/03/06-12/03/06

Was up in Nottingham this last weekend for Tracey's birthday (although her actual birthday is this coming Sunday, 19th), was a long trip up, picked up Tracey's friend Katie at about 13.45 and it was another 5hrs before we got to Nottingham, much longer than it should have been, bloody Crufts traffic was causing the problems. So once we got up there, we dropped our stuff off at Tracey's then went into town for some food, I was starving!!! Went to a Hard Rock Cafe, had a really nice steak Then we went back to Tracey's and watched a film.

Next day, we went into town to get Molly (David), wondered round town for a wee bit, the girls were going to all the clothes shops, Molly and I went in search of some football scores, both of us happy, our respective teams were winning. Then came the evening, and it was laserquest first, not done it for years! Was good fun though, I came about 5th I think. We then went out into Nottingham, we were all drinking, but as usual, my temper kicked in and I had to stop drinking so that I could control it, never fun! But was ok in the end. We then went off to rock city, being surrounded by many many goths!!! Always a different experience! haha.

Sunday was a more relaxed day, Molly and David got the train home and I went to buy my new bowling ball. Left Nottingham at about 14.30ish, something like that, fortunately though, the traffic was clear all the way home, so we didn't have a repeat of the journey up.

Was a good weekend, and Tracey had a good time, which was the main thing Unfortunately, although I had taken it up with me, me being the spod that I am, left the camera in my bag at Tracey's, so there are no pictures from the weekend. Doh!! Oh well.

Oh yeah, Nottingham has a Hooters bar!! Apparently it's the only one in the country, didn't get chance to go in it though

Bournemouth 04/03/05

It's Chris's birthday on Tuesday, he's 24, so last night most of us went out into Bournemouth for a bit. Unfortunately John couldn't make it, girlfriend problems (he knows what I mean). So there was myself, Chris, Sigvine, Raold (sig's brother), Dave (Chris's brother), Si and Carol. We went to Casa first and stayed there til pretty much kicking out time at 11ish, then we thought of going to walkies, but looked at the queue and then couldn't be arsed really, so we went to Toko instead. Stayed there for a wee bit, only til about midnight, something like that, then we Chris and Sig decided to call it a night, Si and Carol were also going, and with John not coming ("Honestly John, we'll leave in a bit"), I went back to Chris's for chips and lasagne, then went home. Average night out, but a night out nonetheless :) Anyway, pics in the normal place.

Tiger Christmas Party

Ok, I'll admit, this is a little late going up, but hey, who cares. Last Sunday night was the big Tiger Christmas Party, which meant free food, free drink, and a lot of crazy dancing!! Not by me I hasten to add! Along with me for the ride was Sarah, one of my closest friends. She told me a month ago that she was going to be over from New Zealand over the christmas period and it transpired that she would be around for my work christmas party; needless to say, I didn't hesitate in inviting her along to it. When she came down the stairs in her wee red dress, it took my breath away, she looked stunning. Normally, when I see Sarah, she's in slacks or something similar, and I don't ever recall seeing her all dressed up, so this was like "WOW".

The party itself was good. Food was Ok, dancing was.... errr, yeah!! Brian (my MD) doing a chicken dance on his own in the middle of the dancefloor... I must admit, it will be a while before anything tops that! We had a mini casino there again, like last year, but unlike last year, I didn't win it :( Really poor effort on my part this year. Still, chin up ;)

There were many many pictures taken that night, I have put up a selection of the best, starting with a nice one of me Sarah and me. Sarah, you looked stunning!

Was up in Cardiff last night, went to the Millennium Stadium to see Oasis. Was hoping to see Foo Fighters as well, but arrived a wee bit too late to see them. Still, can't really complain ;) Went up with Sarah, she's always wanted to see Oasis and didn't think she would get to see them live, well, now she has :) Was a very good gig, they were great, although there set was only an hour and a half long, and there were a few songs they didn't do, like Roll With It, but they were still good. What was weird was going down amongst the crowd to watch them and then look around and see all the people in the stands, made you realise what it must be look for the footballers when they play there; was most surreal. Anyway, the pics are up in the normal place, they aren't that amazing, but not too shabby.

Was out in Bournemouth last night. Couldn't find my camera, so apologies for the lesser quality pics, they were taken with my phone. Started off in Casa then quickly moved on to Yates' where we met up with a couple of Kelly's mates, Jenny and Helen. Turns out, Helen is quite the little graphics person, and is keen to go freelance, so I mentioned about the web design that I do and she seemed keen to join me on it :) Anyhoo, we then went to Bar Me, and of course John was straight on the poles! As usual! At his happiest when he thinks he's a female stripper I think! haha. Anyway, was a good night out, it's so much nicer going out and not worrying about when my toe is gonna start hurting! Wasn't strictly speaking a night out, but was up in Nottingham for the weekend seeing Tracey as she was having a little get together at hers. Was nice as I haven't seen her since February. Was a good laugh, Dave (her bf) had his band members round as well and they are rather amusing. Took her up a DivX player for her so that she can watch her videos more easily :) Good weekend, thanks for inviting me babe :)

Once again, out in bournemouth. This time though, we had a special guest. My cousin Jane was down for the night and joined us on a merry night out in Bournemouth. Went to the Brasshouse first, bumped into Kev (my old manager) and Jody. Then we headed on to Jumping Jaks. Our normal venue of Berlins has now closed and is being turned into an 'alternative' club, yay. Oh well, chin up and all that. After Jaks, we decided to move onto Toko, which was, as always, too hot. I did manage to bump into Lauren whilst in Toko. I know, you might be thinking, who's Lauren? So, was a good night out all told :) Pics are up in the normal place.

Once again was out in Bournemouth, was quite a few of us out last night actually. There was myself, John, Mike, Kelly (john's missus), Shelley (Kelly's ridiculously hot cousin), Kat (Kelly's mate), Jenny (Kelly's mate), and Kat's cousin (didn't catch her name). Started off in Brasshouse and then moved on to Berlins, say what you like about Berlins, I don't actually think it's that bad in there, at least it's not full of chavs like elements!! Was out in Bournemouth last night, it's the first night out in a while where I actually enjoyed myself. And it's also the first night out where nothing bad actually happened to my toe!! Yay for small wonders! Was out with John, Chris, Sigvine and Raold (Sig's brother). Started off in Casa then moved on to Berlins. Was a good night, even if someone tried swapping my excellent trilby hat with some crappy little party blowy thing!! haha. Pics are up in the usual place.

Bloody nora, its been almost two months since i last posted any pics from a night out. Probably cos I haven't been out as much recently, what with my blasted toe giving me grief all the time. Anyway, went out last night, tried getting into walkies, but wasn't allowed, cos i was "wearing trainers"!! Arses. The upshot of the fuss we created means that I get free entry into it for the first few weeks after I get my toe sorted next thursday. So in the end we went to Berlins, which was alright like, not a massive fan of it, but hey ho, when it's the only place that will let you in.... Beggars not being choosers and all that jazz. Was Matt's birthday today (Matt is one of Johnno's mates, see some of the other pics) so we all went out into bournemouth, as we do. Started in Casa, then moved on to Consortium, then went to Toko, which was bloody packed! I left a wee bit early as I had stubbed my toe and was in a lot of pain! I'll be so pleased when that is finally sorted. Gave Matt and Lindsay (his missus) a lift home as they were a wee bit tired. Pics are in photos section as normal

Well, all the students are back in bournemouth now, and to welcome them all back, it was Skool Disco night at the firestation. Needless to say, me, Alex and John were all there :) Was an ok evening, but started dying down quite quickly so Alex and I left. The pics are up in photos as usual.

Well, was in Glasgow last night to finally see Big Yin live. Flew up in the afternoon from Bournemouth airport and was totally worth it. The man is a living legend! He talked about being criticised by Julian Clary in The Independent ("It's like being attacked by a loafer, or a woolly dog!"), the death of the Pope, the differences between men and women, and how his dad was after a stroke. All in all, it was the funniest thing I have been to see in years and I hope I someday get to see him again. Not many pictures, but they are in the photos section as per normal.

Mike, one of the guys at work, is getting married in a couple of weeks, so last night was his stag do. Was a good laugh, started off earlier in the day playing football at Littledown, I didn't play because of my toe, as much as I wanted to!! The evening then started off at Stanleys casino, then moved on next door to spearmint Rhino, which was.... good ;) Then once we'd had our share of strippers, we moved on to the K-Bar, first time I've been there, not really my scene, but hey, was a good laugh nonetheless. A couple of mates from when I was at uni came down for the weekend, so we all trapsed off to the firestation and had quite a good night. My brother was also down from uni for the weekend and him and a couple of his mates were also going to the firestation, so we all met up. Was a good laugh, until Adam managed to jump on my toe. What is it with people and landing on my damn toe!! Anyway, pics are up in the photos section.

Was out in London on Friday with my mate Tracey, was her last night in London before she moved up to Nottingham to live with her boyfriend. Was a really good night, went to a rock bar called The World's End until closing time at 12, then went on to a rock club called Electric Ballroom, which was certainly different to the usual places I go to. Still, lots of corsets, stockings and suspenders AND hot hot hot cage dancers! The only bugger was when some bloody retard jumped up and landed on my bad toe!! Couldn't walk for an hour!! Anyway, see pictures in the photos section.
